Background:
Maja's background is set in the universe of the british TV series DR Who. This explains her age in braces. Thats her real age, but due to an "accident" when sie was 22 and traveling with the doctor her aging process stopped.
After the doctor had to leave her she decided to settle down on earth again.
During her journeys with the doctor she accieved amazing martial arts skills. Her way of martial arts bases on sonic waves. She addapted that idea from a tool she saw the doctor using very often and figured out how powerfull such techniques would be. She can create sonic waved and intense vibrations with her hands and fists and is able to manipulate objects and exspecially water with it.
Over one hundret years she brought this technique to absolute perfection.
Known feats of her are vaporizing huge metal objects just by touching them, and creating a dry channal through a large lake with water control (just like Moses XD)
She decided to enter the Maidens 08 contest in the hope to find somebody who knows where the doctor is know. All she wants is to meet him again.
For those who know the show: She even killed a fully operational Darlek barehanded!

O.k. here we go. the official Maidens 08 Background for Maja. The Dr Who Idea will be used for a different chara then.

Born as the daughter of a famous startraveler Maja had a very extraordinary childhood. She first left earth when she was just 3 aboard the stargazer, her fathers spaceship. When she was 7 she has seen more planets and has learned more about starships than most humans do in their whole life.
When she turned 10 she discovered her love for martial arts, exspecially the ISFL (interstellar fighting league) She watched all major matches via Holocom and even visited the finale of the 5492 th Pantean hypermatch final. This is when she met Neja Kyu Sensei the grandmaster of the school of sonic fighting art. The best fighter of Neja's school made it to the big final fight against a Gorag named Borsh. The Gorag are tall, reptilelike creatures with 4 legs two arms and a large musculat tail and their fighting style would not be considered elegant by most other species, but this particular fighter was as fast as he was strong and defeaten Neja's pupil in the 5th round.
Maja managed to talk to Neja during the match and he was suprised how much she knew about the sonic fighting.
Some reader who read the Transgalactica news from 25th of Ood in the 1276th standardyear after the establishment of the highcouncil of Gaaj might already know that on that day a Delan cybership crashlanded at the Hypermath arena and the Robots were rampaging all over the place. Its said that this horrible accident was caused by a solar erruption and some strange coincidences which jammed the ships main intelligence.
Well to get back to topic Maja, Majas father and Neja escaped together with several other people and had to fight their way to the Stargazer. Neja used his martial art to destroy the attacking robots, whch impressed Maja very deeply. She decided to follow the way of sonic fighting and Neja decided to train her. The following years Neja basicly lived aboard the stargazer training Maja who proved to be a true prodigy. When Maja was 15 her father brought Neja and Maja to Nejas homeplanet Hareia where Maja and Neja should go on holydays for some weeks to prepare Maja for the next Hypermatch fights.
The weeks became months and Maja had to realize that her father might not come back from his mission. Neja revealed to her that Majas father was sent to examine the cause of several strange things that happened in the Delan sector.
Maja decided to find her father, but without a spaceship that would be impossible. So Maja had to wait till a ship passes the system to hitch a ride.
In the meantime she continued training and surpassed all of Nejas former pupils. She mastered even the most difficult techniques is very short time and it was obvious that very soon she would surpass even her own master.
When Maja was about 20 a ship entered the system and Maja traveled to the capital city to find a way to get on board. Unfortunately it was a Delan taskforce jumpship which landed in the middle of the city. The Delan robots started shooting at everything around. Maja and Neja as the only real fighters on the whole planet had to fight them. Fortunaltely it only was a taskship with about 50 Robots but Maja and Neja had a hard fight. During that fight most of the capital city has been destroyed, ba the Delans and partially by collerteraldamage of Nejas and Maja strongest technique, he supersonic blast.
Suddenly the ship detonated and Maja was hit by the explosion.
the robots were stopped but Maja was about to die.
Neja did what he had to do. He saved her life by giving her his lifeforce. This is a ability only given to few Herians.
Herians are known get almost infitinively old. They have more lifeforce than any other species in the universe. The ability to pass this foce onto someone else is very rare and its not known that it has been used since the last thousand years cause it means the death of the Helan using it.
Neja gave his life to rescue Maja because he saw her potential and wanted the Sonic way to live on with her.
When Maja awoke she found herself in the totally destroyed capital, her master dead. Alone.
Well not for long about 2 hours later hundrets of camerateams from other cities arrived and Maja had a lot to do to tell everyone what happened. Of course she already was well known on the whole planet as the best pupil of the great grandmaster Neja.
Maja lived on and followed her way. She perfectionated the sonic way and very soon forgot the world outside Heran, while the rest of the galaxy was fighting the first Delan war.
After onehundret years of training Maja's abilities were litterally legendary. She was able to melt even the hardest metal only by touching it. She could create sonic waves that flattern whole mountains and boild seas.
One day she got mail from a scientist of new Helania (the new capital city of Helan) that there is a strange message for her in the void. Maja traveled to Helania and was more than suprised to hear her fathers voice when she opened the file.
It were only few words:"I am still alive, help me!"
Maja decided to find her father although it seemed impossible to her that he is still alive but the scientist asured her that this message was no echo from a century old transmission but a real signal from somewhere out there.
All Maja now needed was to get of the planet somehow. And so she decided to enter the Maidens08 contest to get the money to buy an own spaceship and find her father.
